Well the basic recipe....is pears, sugar, allspice or combo of your fave similar spices......cook down pour in jars hot and viola' it is yummy and because pears are so much sweeter than apples you use way less sugar!

Oooh, we pear crisp! Just like apple crisp, only with pears.

Slice 4-6 pears (depending on size-about 2 cups worth) and place in greased casserole dish (I use 8x8). In a bowl mix 1/4 cup flour, 1/4 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup oats, 1 tbsp cinnamon, 1/2 tbsp nutmeg, and a pinch of salt. Pour in 4-6 tbsp melted butter (depends on how "gooey" you want it). Mix topping and spoon over pears. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until golden brown and pears are tender. We like it served with vanilla ice cream.

DH loves pear dumplings! Just make them pretty much the same way as apple dumplings.
