I really want to try making my own granola. We buy it and go through it so fast!

TIA!

Re: Post your fave granola recipe

Here's one that's pretty neat.

Yummy Old Fashioned Granola

1 tub of old fashioned oats
11/2 c. of brown sugar
1/2 c. of sugar
1 box of yellow cake mix
3 T. ground cinnamon (more if you like it cinnamony)
1/2 c. honey
3/4 c. maple syrup
1 stick of melted butter

Mix all together until the oats become crumbly. You may
have to add more honey to this if it seems alittle dry.
Spread out evenly on cookie sheet. (you will do this a
few times) and bake for 30-40 min. until lightly brown
@ 350 degrees. Let cool. You can at this point add
dried blueberries, craisins, coconut, pecans whatever
really to the granola.....enjoy!

Re: Post your fave granola recipe

I just made granola for the first time last week, and I love it!! Here's the recipe I used. (I made a half batch, and it yielded about 4 cups- which is enough for now)

SUE'S HOMEMADE GRANOLA

5 c. oats
1 c. chopped nuts, any kind
1 1/2 c. wheat germ
1 1/2 c. powdered milk (dry)
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1 c. canola oil
1 c. honey
Raisins

Mix dry ingredients together in large bowl. Add oil and honey. Spread in 2 (9 x 13 inch) pans. Bake at 250 degrees for 30 minutes. Stir well and bake another 30 minutes. Add raisins after baking, while warm. Cool well. Store in tight container in refrigerator. Keeps a long time.
