Re: Snacks for DS who has allergies for preschool

my ds is dairy allergic, and his daycare doesnt accomodate it, so i send his own food. at first i only allowed him to eat what i sent, but as everyone got usd to it, now i let him eat the snacks that they serve that are safe for him, since he loves to eat what his friends eat, even if its not as good as what i would have sent him, lol.

he likes annies bunny crackers (the grahams, chocolate, and choclate chip ones re dairy free, but ive never really paid attention to the soy) dried fruit/trail mix(nut free at school) hummus and stuff to dip in it, home made muffins or quick breads, stuff like that. i gave up trying to match what they are having, except on the days theyre having cheese. like his second day there, he got bit trying to steal someones cheese, lol, soi always send his dairy free cheese then.

he was 2 when he started there, and he'll be 3 october first. hes gotten very good rcently about asking if things have cow milk in them. the kids at daycare (even the ones not in his class) know tristan brings his own food because the stuff ms brenda makes might make him sick. they think its kind of cool.

oh, as far as milk goes, i bring a carton, and they just let me know when its running low and i need to bring in some more
