Re: My bumGenius rainbow!

You know what would be really interesting.... has anyone ever tried silk painting? I bet the bG could be dyed the same way.. with resist and such... almost makes me want to get creative and get some resist and a few more white ones to "play" with...

Sarah, they look awesome! Makes me wish I hadn't ordered a color one and had just gotten a white one and let you dye it

I don't think it was the oxyclean... mine have faded too and I've only washed them normally. I didn't even realize it until I pulled the older ones out of the dryer earlier and put them away right next to the new ones... they've all faded some, the yellow most of all. I too was thinking they could be overdyed in the future.. then the aplix would match too

Re: My bumGenius rainbow!

dye virgin here (only have done RIT to redye my black stuff black again).

So after the heat, add vinegar, add dye, swish dipe... you don't do ANYthing?

Is it then ready to wear when it's dry?

Did/Will you dye some CottonBabies the same colors so they don't "lighten" the dyed outers? Do you have any idea if the CBs take up dye well?

TIA!!! AWESOME JOB Mama!!

Oh good, I'm glad it wasn't the oxyclean. I did the washing last weekend at my mom's so I could line dry out in the sun - maybe it was a combination of a different washer, different heat, and different water! Who knows. They faded A TON except the stretchy tabs - I was so bummed. (haha, really no pun intended). But, I do want to dye them now and dye my dingy looking white ones.

Re: My bumGenius rainbow!

I too dyed two of my BG's. They turned out nice, but not nearly as pretty as yours! I used RIT, and it did dye the inners. They are just a lighter shade. So you say you can KA dye them. HMMMM.... I have never done it but I think I have some white ones that are calling my name tonight.

And yes the CB microfiber cloths dye very well!!!!! Atleast with RIT. I had two that were stained so I threw them in with the dipes, and they came out nice. Not sure if KA would work on them though. Now I just have to pick out my colors.

Haha.. well maybe you'll love them as much as me and suddenly find yourself being pulled away from fitteds and wool... and I do feel SO guilty that I'm enjoying these diapers so much.. and I love the fact that they'll literally fit "forever" (I hope, but I think my mutts will fit forever too.. lol)
