Why are my inserts turning brown/gray??

They are relatively new....they came with my bg 4.0's so they are only like 1-2 months old. I've been cloth diapering for 3 years and this has never happened! I've been using rockin green for about 2 months and have no stink issues....do you think it's the detergent still?
Maybe it's not working as well as I thought I'm just bummed.

Perhaps something changed in your water table and it's mineral deposits?

I guess, if they don't stink, I wouldn't worry about it. But then we have hard water and none of our whites stay white with just regular detergent alone.

I think it's okay to bleach these. I've had good luck brightening them up by washing with just detergent on my machine's sanitize cycle and drying in the sun. I've seen other mamas post on here that they've had great luck boiling their microfiber.

WOW!! I was just going to post the same thing. I've been using CrunchyClean not RnG, but mine have done the same thing! Weird. Just happened Monday. Stranger still that it's not all my mf, but happened to one KL fitted too.
DS got immunizations Monday and had two doses of Tylenol (well the off-brand anyhow). Would the shots/medication effect his pee?

I dunno if the water changed or not...hmm...thats weird! I'm so picky about my diaper stash, if it is the detergent I might have to quit using it! haha

Yeah, I soaked them in some bleach the beginning of last week and that worked...but not for long!

not sure mama--my well water goes through fluctuations when the water table is high or low and that causes the minerals to change. sometimes we are heavy in iron, sometimes sulfer, sometimes other stuff. but could you get your water tested by one of those companies just to be sure it's safe to drink?

It's the nature of microfiber. You can bleach them frequently and not worry about damage, and sunning helps as well (though not as remarkably as bleach, IME). Microfiber grays. As long as it doesn't stink, they're fine. Unsightly, but fine.

I've had the same experience, and have sunned and bleached. I agree with the above...as long as they don't smell, they're okay...

Cool Re: Why are my inserts turning brown/gray??

Recently some of my Perfect Bum Booster microfiber Inserts and KaWaii microfiber Soakers have turned a really dark grayish blue! They don't stink or have any odor but they look gross! I did some research with some surprising results. I found a couple different things that might cause this. Tylenol being one of the more common problems and the reason mine turned blue Wow learn something new everyday! You can visit my blog Growing Little Ones and check under the label cloth diapers to see my full post on this subject and to see pictures of my blue inserts.
