Re: Dry skin what do you use?
Dreft is very notorious for being bad on sensitive skin! I make my own detergent, and it works very well for all clothes, the adult's, the baby's and the diapers. Basically it's equal portions Borax, laundry soda and in my case, Kirk's Castile coconut oil soap. The first two can be found in the grocery store laundry aisle, the last I buy from Amazon. You grate the soap and then mix up equal quantities of the three. One tablespoon is all you need, so it lasts forever too!
It's doubtful that the goat's milk lotion would harm her; dairy sensitivities are often just cow's milk. If your mom knows the lady who makes it, can you get a small sample to try first?

Re: Dry skin what do you use?
I second CJ's BUTTer as being the most awesome cream to apply -- I use it because I have very dry skin, and I only apply once a day and no itchies
(I use it on DS, too, but he does not have any skin issues)I would definitely try another detergent. You could try the RnG on your clothes, but that could get $$$ -- maybe try country save or another clean-rinsing detergent? I've had trouble with detergents in the past (Ecover was the worst I remember) and since we switched to cloth-diaper-safe stuff for everything I've had no problems at all. We currently use Charlie's on the clothes and RnG on the diapers, but are trying CountrySave once the Charlie's is gone (because it's pretty inexpensive).

Re: Dry skin what do you use?
You don't have to make your own detergent, I just wanted to offer that as a suggestion. There are other ones out there that are good for very sensitive skin. I used this one by J.R. Watkins before switching to making my own. Maybe it will help?

Re: Dry skin what do you use?
I would stop using dreft and any scented fabric softener. Sounds like eczema to me (both my boys have it) DS1s is caused by anything scented and since I've eliminated scents I havent seen any patches. DS2's I'm still not sure about. Aquaphor is ok for him, but we're about to try CJ's Butter to see if that's better. I break down and use hydrocortisone when it gets REALLY bad (like fire engine red and he just shreds his face from scratching) but try to stay away from it for the most part because of how it effects the skin after regular long term use (he's 6 months and I've only used it twice).

Re: Dry skin what do you use?
thanks it is weird and making me think it's detergent more than maybe diet because I took her clothes off this evening including her diaper and her butt area covered by her diaper is clear and so soft. The rash starts around diaper lines and up. So I think tomorrow I might rewash all her clothes in RnG or Charlies or one of my other natural detergents I have. I think probably RnG since I know it doesn't bother her bum.

Re: Dry skin what do you use?
I might call my dr. tomorrow to see if I can give her benedryl or use something on her because it bothers her so bad that she cries and itches a ton till she makes herself bleed. I can trim her nails 3 times a day she still manages to cut herself.

Re: Dry skin what do you use?
My DS had the exact same eczema issue. It didn't occur to me for a long time that the issue might be laundry detergent because we were using seventh generation free & clear, but I made that same realization about the line on the diaper area. We switched to Country Save and it cleared up TOTALLY within a week.
We also don't use any shampoo or anything on him. I have earth's best organic calendula baby moisturizer that I put on any rough spots that occasionally show up. Oh, and to keep her from scratching, try putting socks on her hands! The more she scratches the more it will itch, so do what you can to stop her. When it starts to clear up, she itching should slowly go away.
