Baby Bottles
They just had that news story on TV about plastic baby bottles secreting a chemical.
It can cause developmental and reproductive problems!! scary stuff! Now I'm trying to figure out what kind of bottle to use with our next baby.... What kind of bottles do you guys use??? I cant find glass ones anywhere. I'm sure there has to be safe bottles out there somewhere.

Pretty sure the playtex nursers that use the drop in liners are good too!
Babycenter also sells the glass bottles. http://store.babycenter.com/product/...e.do?asc=false

Re: Baby Bottles
yeah, they are. But, thats the price you pay for safety! lol
Yes, you can use the Playtex ones too but the nipples are made of chemical materials as well. They sell these bottles at our Whole Foods actually, so at least you'd save on shipping if you have a store near you. If I was to use bottles, I'd splurge and just get a 6 pk. I'd MAKE myself wash them so as not to need 2 6 pks. lol I'd be afraid to use glass. I know how my kids liked to fling their bottles. Imagine getting hit in the head w/ one of them things, or if they hit themselves in the face with it. They are pretty heavy.

Re: Baby Bottles
ok....heres what I've found out tonight. lol
Dr. Brown also makes a Bisphenol-A free bottle! They call it 'Dr. Brown's B Free Bottle'. But I cant find them anywhere Do the original Brown bottles have the chemical? They said to look for bottles that are made out of Polypropylene or Nylon, they are safe.... bottles made with polycarbonate have the Bisphenol-A chemical.

Re: Baby Bottles
First, don't panic. From what I've read, the main concern comes when the forumla (or bm) is boiled for long time periods (like 20 MIN). The extreme heat causes the chemicals to leak. Here is another article on the subject.

There was a mention by PP of chemicals in the nipples. I thought nipples were made out of latex or silicone--are those materials unsafe as well? or am I just confused. There's a lot of info to digest on this subject, a bit overwhelming IMO.
