asked before but it is burried...

I'm looking at getting some Thirsties duo covers for my 15lb just about 6 month old (will be by the time I order) I'm going to do the size 2 to get the longest use if I order the snap version to use with the Duo stay dry inserts will I have issues getting a decent fit?
Her measurments
rise 15ish (too wiggly to get exact)
waist 14
thighs 9/10 (wiggles)

I'd rather not have velcro...

Re: asked before but it is burried...

I just got a size 2 in snaps and tried it on my DS who is 4.5 months and 13.5 lbs (long and lean). It wasn't too big even though he is a little under the weight range. But I could not get a good fit. I am thinking the aplix would be better, even though I'd also rather have snaps. I'm going to give it another try, but I think it will ultimately end up on FSOT!

Can you describe how the fit was off and what diapers you used them with?

We can NEVER get a good fit with snaps so I only do aplix. The only covers so far that have fit "okay" with snaps have been the flip and a wool wrap I ordered. Other than that, snaps dont fit my son well at all The aplix duos are awesome though.

DS is 5.5 months and about 18lbs now.. I started using size 2 when he was about 14lbs because size 1 already too tight, but size 2 is humongous. I use aplix, good thing I got the aplix because until now to get a good fit the aplix still needs to be overlap. His waist around 16inches btw.. so I think you will get gap if you use the snap one for DD.

I always found that I got a better fit with the aplix. You could always buy one of each, snap and aplix. If it doesn't work for you I can tell you from experience that they sell lightening fast on FSOT.

The snap placement on these does not work out as well. They fit my little guy. But not as well as the aplix. I've been thinking of just having snaps placed on mine like the BGs have. I like that placement a LOT better! I think the two rows fit better than one row.

Zoey wears that size on the tightest, smallest setting and it's fine. Sounds like I"m the oddball, but I prefer snaps too because her stomach hangs over and velcro scratches her. Go for it!

We don't have the chubby tummy issue but almost the opposite the waist almost always gaps a bit so the veclcro parts fold under causing scratching. My only exception have been the bummi SWW those fit my LO great for some reason. The sized thirstes really scratch her though...
