Unhappy my son has a rash every where

Okay I just went to change ds's diaper and his chest and back were covered in a red bumpy rash and it is spreding on him like wildfire. I do not want to go to the ER. We havent changed detergent latly or anything and I havent eaten anything new nor has he. he seems okay other than that. He did start antibiotics for an ear infection on the 24th, so 7 days ago. What could be causing this. We light up our fireplace for the first time tonight that wouldnt do this would it???

Thank you

heres a pic help me please his whole body is covered

Poor little Guy!
He could have an alergic reaction to something he's been around or eaten before and it's just starting now.Did you or Dh wear anything new in your hair or purfume, lotion ect. You have to look at everything, animals, food, soaps, everything! My dd was allergic to pinnapple it took us weeks to find out what it was!

Good Luck Mama, I hope he feels better!

Re: my son has a rash every where

I talked to his pedi she told me how much childrens benadryl I can give him and is afraid he might have an allergy to amoxocillin (sometimes it takes a while to show up apperently) So we have to watch him on his next dose carefully. We have no idea what he might be allergic to and I hate not knowing how he feels since he cant talk yet I just feel so bad for my baby. His poor little face is all bumps and his back and neck and tummy

At least I can give him something to make sure he doesnt get worse and hes not complaining.

Thank you everyone

That definately looks like an allergy rash to me! DD had one very similar when she was 18 months old. We kept trying to figure out what could've been causing it. She's allergic to alot of things now that she's older. It very well could be the Amoxicillin. I hope he is feeling better soon!

Thank You hes in a deep sleep with that medacine (I hate giving my dc medacine unless its really needed and decided this was a time to give it)

His sister has a rash that she randomly gets and we dont know what it is from (she has been tested and they want to retest her ) His older sister is allergic to almost everything (plants, trees, cats, dogs, rats, you name it the kids allergic)

His face just got puffy and so did his swollen and so did his lip I feel so bad for him and I have no idea what I ate or what caused this. I just wish it was obvious so I knew not to do it again.

Re: my son has a rash every where

I had an allergic reaction to a Sulfa antibiotic on the 10th day of treatment that looked just like that. Sometimes it takes that long for the immune system to reject the drug.
