Re: cd detergent question..
I have used both sun&earth and the new method (the small pump bottle) on my CD's. The sun&earth is what we started with, I liked it but found it too suddy in my HE (if I could find it in powder I'd probably go back). The method I have only used in a pinch, but didn't feel like it did a great job on my diapers.
ETA- Both are available in my local grocery store. Last edited by krispy79; 09-08-2010 at 01:43 PM. |

Re: cd detergent question..
I have always used Amway and never had any problems. I pre soak with Trizyme and wash in the Amway powder detergent.

We've been using Planet powder and it seems to be working pretty good. I can get it at several of my local grocery stores.
Our wash routine: Pre rinse cycle with a squirt Bac-Out Hot wash/Cold rinse cycle with about half a scoop of detergent 2 cold rinse cycles

Re: cd detergent question..
I used country save and had good success until we started solids, then I got stinkies. Now I use Tide Free&Clear and I really like it! I know it's not "recommended" but my diapers always are clean and fresh. I got really sick of battling the stink with all the other detergents (I tried RnG also)
My wash routine is: Cold rinse with no detergent Hot wash/Cold Rinse with detergent 1/2 to 1 mark extra cold rinse

Re: cd detergent question..
I bought some biokleen powder when it was on sale at our co-op and I have coupons. I also plan on using bac out because I can refill our bottle in the bulk section at the co-op as well. Our home has two large apartments in it so we have a commercial coin operated W/D in the basement. I can't just do a soak or rinse. Not sure how this is going to work out? Any other coin op users with thoughts?

Re: cd detergent question..
I used Country Save. Cold rinse, hot wash with half scoop of detergent, then extra cold rinse. No problems yet!

Re: cd detergent question..
I use Tide HE. We have really hard water so had to switch. I was using Clean B and Hard Rock but got bad ammonia and other stink.
Heavy duty setting: Prewash w/ Bac-out, wash up to line 2 of detergent. Then, normal cycle w/ no detergent.

Re: cd detergent question..
Please no flames on this. I know this detergent is not suggested and the water used is ridiculous.
![]() This is what we do and it works for us. It's worked newborn through late toddler. This washes diapers (pockets, hemp, microfiber, prefolds, aio's), family cloth and unpaper towels all together with no smells. We have somewhat hard water and a top load washer. I use Ultra Purex Free and Clear or Ultra Purex Natural Elements. A. No detergent - longest wash cycle - Cold/Cold - Full capacity water level B. 1/2 recommended detergent - longest wash cycle - Hot/Cold - Full capacity water level C. No detergent - longest wash cycle - Hot/Cold - Full capacity water level
