Quick!! Help!!! Substitute for boning??

I have a baby shower tonight (that I was sure was next week) and I've been planning on making a hooter hider-style nursing cover for my gift. I have the material, and I'm sure I have leftover boning from when I made myself a few, but I can't find it!! And I have nowhere in town I can go buy some! What can I use instead of boning? I have some wide-ish elastic, um....I don't know what else! But I only need about 6 inches worth, for the little opening at the top, kwim? Can anybody help me? My only other option will be to go to Walmart and buy her onesies or something. I know I should've been more organized, but hey life happens. Help!!

Do you have any stiff interfacing? Or get the thickest material you have and sew 2-3 layers together!

it's probably too late to be any help to you but if you have any of that stiff plasticy-type webbing that sometimes comes around packages?

well I ended up doing some MacGyvering, I cut a strip out of a milk jug and encased it in a strip of material from an old pillowcase but it worked!

Great show of ingenuity! I've also heard that the handle from an ice cream bucket works.
