I can tell you if that was happening for Rosie, chances are the teacher could not keep on her about staying on task since there are 25 students in her class and she's the only teacher. She would be getting notes home though. I know when I talked to her teacher she mentioned Rosie does her work very slowly. I just hope by the time we have teacher conferences in November its not such a problem it's keeping her from passing first grade.
She can do it in Hort but the people in Hort dont have to help her. If she was there until 4:30pm they would have to help her. I am seriously considering going back to the old system and having her stay in Hort and pay the extra. I just cant do this. It costs me 50€ a month now and it will cost me 180€ if she stays....what makes me cross is it is only 2.5 hours longer a day and it costs sooooo much more. But she gets a cooked meal included in that.

That just stinks. I'd try to get them to at least help with the German, since you can't really do that yourself.

Maybe a reward system for doing work at school/hort? One point for every sheet done, to redeem X pointts for Y? IDK. It's so hard to make them do anything when you aren't there.

Re: Basically it's Tuesday.

Janine!

@ Raj carrying a Dora lunch box!!!!

I am not feeling well. Dh took the boys to the bus stop this morning. I was up all night w/ tummy issues and of course I had no idea HOW attached Ana was to her old sippy!!!! ZOMG! she screamed from10-11 pm and from 1am-1:45am ....would NOT let me soothe her, kicked, threw herself off the bed, threw the sippys I tried to give her...it was a NIGHTMARE.

NOW David is sick again and laying down...the boys were all sneezing and coughing this morning! I have a a sneakin suspicion they are getting whatever they are bringing home from children's church!!!!

Re: Basically it's Tuesday.

that is cute Becky.

Janine, did you once tell us that Shannon's teacher is also the head teacher so you dont have anyone else to go to about what is happening in the class? 180 a month is ALOT of money so I can see how that would be frustrating.

Re: Basically it's Tuesday.

Hugs Peggy. Ian's sippy cup hasn't been made for a long time, when all the ones we have finally break/get lost, IDK what we will do. How hard it must be for you and her.

I forgot about the head teacher. Yikes, even if they aren't the same person, I doubt she'd help Janine much. I don't suppose there is another class, or tutoring sessions, or anything like that available at the school? Here in the US we have support for families who don't speak English at home.
