I had a UC in 2007. What are you specifically looking for info on? Like, why we decided to UC, was it a good experience, would we do it again, etc? Or more practical info like how we prepared, what supplies we had, etc?

Let me know what you want to hear about, and I'll share from my experience :-)

We had an unassisted birth in 2010. We had intended on using a mw but she ended up 3 hours away at another birth when I was ready to push. We had a birth kit of chucks pads, gloves, a cord clamp trash bags etc. Both my dh and I had done a lot of reading about it because we knew that it was a possibility because of how busy our mw was. This was our third birth so we had an idea of how things normally happen. We had towels ready to cover both of us when dd was put on my chest right after birth. Dh suctioned her mouth and handed her to me. She started nursing pretty quickly. It was awesome. Feel free to ask more specific questions.

we have had four! the first was unplanned but water broke at 3:30 AM and I figured we could wait until a more reasonable hour to call mw since I wasn't even contracting yet...Contractions started at 6:30 and baby was born at 7:20.

Due to a few reasons, the others were planned UC. I read tons. Didn't have a kit or anything special that wouldn't be in the home already. And just went with it.

We do prenatal care with an ob though because that is where dh's comfort level ends.

Do you learn warning signs ahead of time to give you the heads up if theres a problem? Do you buy or rent a doppler to use at home?

Our last DD was a planned UC. It was the best experience of my life! I did have an OB for prenatal because I have terriblee problems with preterm labor and had three previous preemies. I expecyed to go early, sso we wantedto be on top of everything.

I bought my homebirth supplies from In His hands. Cheap and great quality. It was very empowering, and afyer DD1 nearly died due to a tired Dr making an error, I knew it was the best place for DD2 to be born. She was born at 38 wks 6days and weighed 7lbs 2oz. She was bprn on my loving room floor but I spent most of my labor in my bathtub. It was amazing to have her in my ams right after she came out. I'd never experienced that before! I got to nurse imediately too! Amd I clamped and cut the cord! All these things that i'd. Never experienced before! And then I was able to go rest in my own bed. Seriously, best experience. I read a TON of resources beforehand and read tons of birth stories.
