PF sizing question
I need to add some more PFs to our stash for DS this winter since our diapers will dry much slower in the cold, rainy climate. For affordability's sake, we're opting for more PFs. He'll be 7-10 months old and I'm guessing around 19-25lbs this winter. We were thinking of getting Brown edge GMDs. Will those work?

Re: PF sizing question
My son is 5 months and about 19 pounds. I just got some GMD reds during their seconds sale and he's got along way to go before he out grows these. I just told my DH about an hour ago that I was glad I didn't get the browns, they would have been huge. Also some mamas reminded me that babies slim down once they go mobile, HTH!

Re: PF sizing question
Same here as pp. I just bought the gmd reds for my 18 lb 4 month old and he has a long way to go before he grows out of these. I wouldn't go any bigger if you are tri-folding in covers.

Re: PF sizing question
What if we're snappi'ing in covers, not trifolding?

Re: PF sizing question
My 2.5 year old still can wear a snappi'd red prefold, he's probably around 27lbs right now. Don't forget they thin out when they start crawling/walking also.

Re: PF sizing question
I snappi my reds and they fit under a medium flip. And if I roll the sides no poo gets on the cover! Yay for the little victories!

Re: PF sizing question
I got some brown edged GMD for my LO who is 26 lbs and I think they are too big for her - I am thinking of trying a red and see if it would work on her...

Re: PF sizing question
DS is near to outgrowing reds now at 25 lbs and 21 months, and that's pinned/snappi'd.

Re: PF sizing question
My 10 month old, 21 lb DD has outgrown the rise on the reds, but they're still way too wide. Browns are even wider. I've actually given up on GMDs and switched entirely to LLs. They're about 10 times softer (I'm comparing Indian unbleached in both cases), and the premiums are much trimmer than my GMD red edge, even though I have to fold down the back to shorten them. If you already know that he's shorter and stockier, then go with red edge GMDs. If he's normal, or long and skinny, I'd say forget GMD entirely.
ETA: You can get LL seconds for only about $16 a dozen, depending on which size you end up with, and shipping is the same as at GMD.
