Re: Best material for cloth wipes?
I make them w/ flannel on one side and terry on the other. He loves the soft terry on his bum! lol Great for getting poo off too.

Re: Best material for cloth wipes?
I went to the fabric store, the discounted table. I just picked up 2 yards of a cotton blend. It didn't say what it was blended with, but it feels kinda like a terry cloth on one side and tshirt on the other. I cut it down to squares. I sewed it with two sides bc I wanted it a little thicker. I made 65 pieces for about $12.
Then I bought California Baby diaper wash area spray for the solution. I really bought it more for the bottle bc I couldn't find another bottle that wasn't cheapy plastic. So I am going to make my own spray once the bottle is empty.

Re: Best material for cloth wipes?
late chiming in here -- I like the thin knit terry and love velour. I have some flannel, but don't love them, esp with poop (not very "grippy" and I feel like it takes forever to get DS clean).

Re: Best material for cloth wipes?
I made some that are flannel on one side and terry on the other. Terry is great for the messy wipe up and the flannel is great for the touching up. I don't have a serger, but I just zig zag stitched around the edges and they seem to be holding up great. I hasve more fabric to make more... just have to find the time!

Re: Best material for cloth wipes?
I have some of the cotton BG ones and don't love them. I also use a whole bunch of baby facecloths as wipes. They are cheaper and work great.

Re: Best material for cloth wipes?
I like flannel on one side and cotton/poly velour on the other. However, I do like to have a few sherpa-backed wipes for the super messy poops.
I bought mine, so no tips about how to make them (check out the Craft Chat forum, though)

Re: Best material for cloth wipes?
I like a mixture, either flannel or knit backing with velour or cotton/bamboo fleece or sherpa on the scrubby side. Velour isn't enough for a really messy diaper but I prefer it's gentleness for most changes. I used to love our terry wipes but they seemed to have gotten rough with time and I've thrown a lot of them away. Baby doesn't seem to like them either.

Re: Best material for cloth wipes?
I like flannel as well, especially because after a few washes they can get a little rougher to grab the poo... I liked BGs
