OB booked an U/S and a doppler?

I posted yesterday that the babe's head is measuring small, so we are doing another u/s in two weeks. The doc has ordered an US for growth and doppler....Would this be like the doppler they do at the doc's office, just listening to the fetal heartbeat, or? I'm going to call the hospital tomorrow to get my appt. and will ask them then, but just thought i'd see if anyone knew what this may be?

Doppler is where they measure the blood flow in the umbilical cord entering into the baby from the placenta. Its common in a growth scan.

We had IUGR with our 5th baby and had these regularly. Sometimes a 2 vessel cord is found and if the bloodflow is restricted it can cause a growth problem.
