Re: Baby name help - Biblical names

Our two that made it to the top of the list were Lydia and Leah.

I like Selah. I also like Naomi, Corinth, Eden, Grace, and Shiloh.

A friend's daughter is named Micaiah (pronounced Mick-ki-a). Kind of a spin off of Micah.

We have a Chloe & a Lydia. Not sure that this one is going to have a Biblical name......she could arrive any day and we still haven't figured it out

Re: Baby name help - Biblical names

How about Psalm? These may be stretching it a bit, but what about Ruby after Proverbs 31:10 (Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is above rubies.) Or one I've considered (but can't use because it's already taken) is Lily after Matthew 6:28 (Consider the lilies). Hosanna is pretty and I really like Eden too. Lydia and Leah are also really nice names as well. Tabitha is the Aramaic version of the Greek Dorcas. Dorothy and Dorothea are Greek for "gift from God". Dora means "gift" in Greek.

I pronounce it Say-lah. I love Selah, I think it means "pause", or "rest", like in the Psalms.

I also love Hadassah, which was Esther's Hebrew/Jewish name. It means myrtle. I think if we have a girl that Hadassah will be her name.

[QUOTE=BeastMasterMama;11342339]I knew a girl growing up whose name was Maranatha ("Our Lord has come" or "come, O Lord") -- very pretty, I always thought.

That's too cool. I knew a girl from Canada named Maranatha. I always thought it was soooo pretty. She was a very pretty and sweet girl too.

We loved Sarai, so we used it as our youngest's middle name. I also like the name Shiloh and have for awhile, but unfortunately it has gotten a bit of a bad rap it seems because of the Jolie-Pitts. Hadassah was our favorite until my brother used it for his dog.

I love that name too...how it sounds anyway. Not in love with how it looks on paper.

My girls have Biblical and Gaelic names. Sariah is my first daughter's name and Corin (for Corinthians) is my second daughter's middle name.
