A girlI knew when I was a kid her name was Christmas Rose (I always thought the name Christmas was beautiful). All of my 4 siblings have at least one biblical name, I am the only one out of 5 kids that does not have a biblical name.

Just be careful that you really check the meaning of a name you plan to use. Many of the Hebrew meanings listed here and elsewhere online are wrong.

Re: Baby name help - Biblical names

All 8 of my children have a bibical name.
Hannah Elizabeth Rose
Jacob Isaiah
Rachel Sarah
Rebekah Hope
Abigael Cerys(Welsh for Karis/Charis)
Noah Elijah Joseph
Chloe-Ella louise, we call her Ella ( comes from Elizabeth, but she was called Ella after her Grandmother)
KaleahGrace Sheridan,we call her Gracey(Kaleah pronounced Kah-lay-a is Hawaiian for clare/Claira)
Bibical girl names I love are: Esther, Eden, Nevaeh(Heaven sp. backwards) Jasiah "Siah"(feminine version of Josiah), Adah, Naomi, I like Selah(say-la) it's a Christian band also.
Are you any closer to deciding on a name? Good luck.

Do you have a suggested resource for true Hebrew name meanings?

Thanks for the input.

Good question. I have never used a baby name book, so I am not sure which of the Jewish name books might be most accurate. I will ask my husband if he knows of one.

The best idea I have now is to ask a someone who can fluently read and/or speak Hebrew. Even with that, it's best if you ask more than one person. Most standard Biblical names will be fine, but anything a little unusual could have a bad wrong connotation or second meaning. Even with the well-known names, if you are naming because of the meaning, you should be sure to get it right.

I wish I had a better resource to offer. If you have any questions about specific Hebrew names, I can translate them for you.
