Re: Basically it's Sunday!

Good morning mamas. Happy Sunday!

We're up. Ru went running for half an hour. E had some breakfast. In a few minutes we all need to get dressed because E has swimming at 9:30, so we'll need to leave the house at about 9:10.

Sorry that the playdate ended badly yesterday Jen. Little kids totally do that kind of stuff though.

Glad you are loving your new camera, Janine, and that Shannon's meds seem to be working well.

Yay for a quieter morning Peggy when all of the kids go off to church.

I am this morning because my friend who was induced because of pre-eclampsia yesterday had his baby this morning. A little girl (which he already knew), 6 pounds 8 ounces. He hasn't announced her name yet. I cannot wait to see pictures. Thanks to all of you who sent good vibes his way!

That's a Heiner pic btw. He always chops off bits, it's the only pic that isn't blurry too!

Re: Basically it's Sunday!

OMG, lookit him walking around like a little man! So cute!

We are lazy:

I'm considering taking the kids to a mom2mom sale here about 30 miles away. I keep forgetting that 30 miles away here is not the same as 30 miles away in Dallas, LOL. Here mom2mom sales are like swap meets, they have tables and racks to rent at a community center or church and mamas basically sell what they would have sold at a garage sale for much less trouble. So you go and there may be up to like 60 tables of people selling stuff. Next weekend there is one that is much closer, but this city is more affluent than here and it sounds like it's a bigger sale. So I'm trying to decide if it's worth the drive, and if its worth a madhouse if it turns out to be as big as I think it is.

Janine, I'm so glad you like your camera. I'm not liking mine as much. It may just be user error, but I can't seem to find a setting that works well for taking photos in the house with less than optimal light. Also it is very easy to take video instead of a still pic by mistake, or think you are taking pictures when there is no memory card inside because it doesn't tell you until you have taken 4 or more pix in a row. I'm a little spoiled with our old Nikon Coolpix, it is much more idiot-proof and it tells me what object it is focusing on so I know before I take the pix if someone's face is not the primary focus of the photo. This one everything looks darker and a little blurry.

Well, Janine, that's why I'm hesitant, all three at something like that by myself would be a bit much. If I had four, I would stay home.

I love the camera and take pretty good shots. Heiner is crap at picture. He tends to get them in the wrong place and chop off limbs or get a ton of background crap in the picture.

Re: Basically it's Sunday!

Well the good news is that even the cheapest cameras now make the pix have enough pixels that if someone takes a pic with way too much background, it is easy to crop and still have a good enough resolution to make prints. And with all the free photo editing software available now, you can usually correct redeye, too dark, and even blur out the mess in your house But that doesn't help if the picture is out of focus. You can sharpen something blurry to a degree, but it's not the same as getting it right the first time.
