Question Silly questions nursing pads

DS is 7 weeks and I am starting to get all the nursing gear since we are successfully breast feeding. I just bought some nursing tops and nursing bras. I have been using reusable cotton nursing pads for leaks. The other day I tried to go with no pads and leaked all over the place (Especially at night time).
Okay my question is Will I have to wear silly nursing pads forever? I want to breast feed exclusively for 6 months then pump and feed him (after returning to work).
The pads make my boobs look weirdly shaped in all shirts!

I hardly wear pads and DD just turned 4 months old. I only wear them when I am going somewhere, and it will be a while before I nurse again, just in case. I also wear a thicker bra, just in case. Usually, when let down happens, I stop it by pressing against my breasts with my arms. It hardly happens randomly anymore. I haven't had any embarrassing moments...yet!

I think it depends on the person. I had to wear them the entire time I nursed as I would always let down on the other side while the baby was nursing.

I'm still wearing them at night as well (4 months in). I really like the LLL brand ones. They have a nice shape and actually make my boobs look better in my nursing bra!

If I forget,or if they slip to the slide my shirt gets wet, its really aggravating too when my let down doesn't happen from my baby, but someone else's baby crying. I use the nuk brand as well as Thyme Maternity and they seem to work well, I hate the disposable ones they make my boobs look bumpy!

I also had to wear them all day every day until we stopped nursing! At night I would have to double them up and if I forgot to change them I would wake up sleeping in a flood!

if at home try using milkies milksaver. it saves the milk so you can freeze it for later instead of soaking it up and wasting it. i just bought one and it would work great IF i let down on the other side! So far no go! i feel it but nothing comes out. which would be great if i wasnt wanting to stock up before going back to work in January. sorry for typing but nak!

Re: Silly questions nursing pads

DS is 7 months old and I don't use them at all. Stopped around three months. If he makes it through the night (rare) I leak, but I put a waterproof mattress pad on and usually wear flannel pjs which absorb a lot. Can you tell I hate wearing a bra to bed.
