Re: Anyone on Tricare been able to get Zofran?

We moved in the middle of my last pregnancy and I asked for Zofran at the MTF at our last post and the civilian OB I saw here. Neither would prescribe it, both gave me phenergan.

Re: Anyone on Tricare been able to get Zofran?

Hm. If they refused, print out the FDA info that lists phenergan as class C drug but Zofran as class B drug, hence highly preferred over Phenergan...
They did give me generic Zofran once last year on base after I suffered from eColi poisoning (the last time I ate non-organic ground beef, ever!!!!!). I was still nursing, maybe that played a role, cause Phenergan isn't advised when lactating (another reason I didn't take it at the beginning of this pregnancy).

Re: Anyone on Tricare been able to get Zofran?

I got really sick this last pregnancy & ended up with a Zofran infusion pump at home. It sucks but it's another option if you're really in bad shape.

My hyperemesis got so bad I threw up the whole 9 months, spent weeks at a time in the hospital & am still on Zofran now (DS is 9 months old now). The pregnancy destroyed my stomach.

Re: Anyone on Tricare been able to get Zofran?

I got some today! 15 of the 8mg pills with ONE refill before 10/14/2011!!!!!!! Called the pharmacy and they said it looked like the way the doc wrote the script, not that Tricare wouldn't pay. We'll see. I am going to take these and if they work, I'll ask the doc for another script. What have you mamas found to work dosage wise? I know for each it'll be different but just wanted to see what has worked for you.

I have never tried to get Zofran but I have been able to get Phenergan. It has worked well. I break the pills into 1/4 and go up from there if I need it! Don't you just love Tricare?? Hahaha....

DFS is on Zofran, and Indiana Medicaid will only fill 50 mL at a time. He's on 2.5 mL every 8 hours.

Re: Anyone on Tricare been able to get Zofran?

I'm not military, but with DS1 I had a terrible time getting my zofran. This time around was much easier as there is now a generic forms of it, as other mama's have pointed out
