newbie to cloth with a 22mo needs a little advice
dd does not seem ready to use the potty yet.
she has a potty and potty books she likes to read, but whenever i ask her if she wants to go on the potty she says no and actually pouts a little! she is still in disposables but i'm wondering if there would maybe be a transitional cloth diaper i could buy so she knows when she's wet. i would prefer a cover with inserts, definitely waterproof. if anyone has any for sale, i'd welcome pm's too. she's is 26 pounds and wearing 24m/2t. thanks for reading! Re: newbie to cloth with a 22mo needs a little advice
My oldest was just shy of 2 1/2 yrs old when I switched to cloth. DS2 was 3 months at the time.
FleeceBeWithYou makes cloth trainers. They pull on like underwear, but you can get a snap option to take it off quickly in case of messes. They are fleece covers with a snap in soaker. Any diaper you get that does not have a stay dry topper will let her feel wet. So you could even do prefolds and a cover, and she would feel the wetness. Or a fitted with a cover. But if your goal is potty training... then I'd recomend something that can pull on and off like underwear. Good luck. God bless!

Re: newbie to cloth with a 22mo needs a little advice
I would recommend doing lots and lots of bare bum time whenever you're home. That way when she has an accident she'll be able to make the connection with the feeling of urinating with the puddle that ends up on the floor at her feet. It likely won't take long for her to catch on to that. If you want an economical option for out and about then I'd say get yourself a few prefolds and a couple covers. I think more than cloth diapers though, the bare bum time will really help. It's what did it for my DS. He's only 22 months and he's in regular underwear all day everyday.
