New, non-profit volunteer

Hi, I'm an "older" mom who did not cloth diaper. But I volunteer for a non-profit who hands out diapers to low income women, and we never have enough. So I have made a goal to set one woman a month up with a good cloth start up. They can CD exclusively, or just when they run out of disposables, or when at home (some babes are in daycare that will not take cloth), etc. The women are screened for motivation, access to washing machine, etc.

My budget is $150 per woman. My goal is to find the perfect start-up package in this price range. My current trial is the one size Kawaii, (3 different kinds) waiting for my first shipment. Currently in trial with my first client is used in good condition BG3, with a couple of bumpkins, and a couple of the BG organic AIO. I am currently trying to figure out which of the two options would be preferable, and where to get the best value biodegradable liners, since these seem to increase motivation substantially. I welcome any and all advice/encouragement. I hope as my experience grows, I will be able to pay forward.

look forward to meeting you all. Sarai

Re: New, non-profit volunteer

Wow, It warms my heart the number of kind mamas that have been offering to donate diapers!

At this time, God has been good, and I don't need any Also, the name of the organization is specific to my geographical area, and I can only email it to a moderator, (it IS a registered, reputable non-profit that would be easy to look up) to protect as much as possible the mamas I need advice for. We are starting very, very small (just one mama a month), just using one brand of pocket diapers, and carefully monitoring and documenting the problems that she may have, and trying to problem solve. I am on the board for all the very fantastic advice, since I am a clueless CD newbie myself. My plan is to find one great, economical brand, and buy in bulk.

As well, there is a rule on the board against soliciting for donations, and I don't want to do anything to keep from getting the advice I so desparately need. I hope, with the help of the moms here, I will have enough success to qualify for a grant, there are some available for both human services and environmental.

However, the Cloth Diaperr foundation does take donations, here is there link. I know nothing about them besides what's on there website, which I read to get ideas for our group.

God bless all of you, and many thanks!
