Re: Xmas gifts for an Infant

My youngest was 3 mo at his first christmas and our favorite things we got were soft toys to mouth, tag blanket, and a jumperoo to grow into! The rest of the stuff just ended up in the bottom of the toybox Oh, and my amazing, brilliant inlaws got the boys a train table to 'share' that year, DS1 got to open it and the baby didn't care that he didn't get to open the gift, and now we have an awesome train table that both boys use daily.

She's lucky! Christmas and her birthday are almost exactly 6 months apart which is awesome for clothes and toys in the future!

My partner is going to kill me if I show up with any more books!!!

She's very ahead on milestones... I'm tempted to get her a wheely bug
I've read a lot of parents saying that their child would push it like a walker... so she might have some fun with that... She's pulled herself up to stand a couple times and shes only 3 months old.

I gotta go drool on Oompa toys or something...

I'm also tempted to buy me a new carrier. wrap it up and say it's for her.

Well we do 3 gifts/kid plus Santa.

So Faith will get a mini Waldorf inspired doll- from Etsy, Baby Signing Time DVDs, Sophie the Giraffe and a minky blankie. I'm going to put socks and maybe a couple little toys in her stocking.

Somehow I suspect my child will be more interested in the wrapping paper then new toys! She'll be almost 6 months...
A stuffed animal or toy that makes a noise. That is all I got. That is the only year you get to not spend a lot and let everyone else buy stuff. Baby will be perfectly happy with wrapping paper and such. Enjoy the financial freedom!

I think we got our dd2 a stacking soft toy. I do not remember what we got her sister her first xmas.

O I thought of something else! Fisher Price Little People sets. Dd loved those and still plays with them daily! It's something she can mouth for now, but grow into an imagination/pretend play toy in the future.

Re: Xmas gifts for an Infant

For ODD's first Christmas we got her some bowls and spoons (looking ahead), a nice soft doll, and some board books. My parents got her an exersaucer. I don't recall what the ILs got her.

YDD will get a special blanket. That is all I've got so far! I am thinking about a sophie since so many people have suggested it, and maybe some wipes or something.

With ODD it didn't really matter what we got her - obviously she didn't really care all that much. With YDD, ODD will notice.... so she definitely needs to have stuff to unwrap, even though she really doesn't need anything.

We have the Learning Home (bought for my 2-month old at Christmas last year ) and both of my DDs LOVE it! They are now 1 year old and almost 3. Younger DD started playing with it as soon as she could pull up/move around a little, so I think this would be a perfect Christmas gift for a 6 month old.

Re: Xmas gifts for an Infant

DD will be 9 months and will just want to eat the wrapping paper. We are getting her a toy and then just wrapping things like baby food. She doesn't ever sit still anyway so I doubt opening these things will even appeal to her ha.

Re: Xmas gifts for an Infant

I've been giving her new toys here and there, I think my favorite one was her first doll that I sewed by hand (which I hate doing!) but it turned out real cute.
