If you use Firefox you can block ads using Adblock Plus, it's under your security settings somewhere.

Not just you. I hate that one and the Sharpie one, that pop bigger and cover much of the screen! It opens up even when I'm just trying to do a search, and I swear I didn't mouse-over the ad. I'm so grouchy about it though that I refuse to give in and be a site supporter just because advertisers get more and more obnoxious. Sorry, ornery today.
