Unhappy Need sleep help

My dd is 4 months old and sleeps really good at night and goes down fairly easy- maybe 5 minutes of fussing if that and will sleep about 9 hours straight get up eat and sleep for 2-3 more yeah. The problem is her naps. I cannot get her to nap during the day unless I lay with her which I don't really want to start. I've tried changing her, feeding her, then laying her down and she just cries and cries. How long should I let her cry before getting her what do you guys do. You would think with this being our 3rd we would have this down but our others napped well. Any help would be great. I just don't know what to do and nothing gets done because I spend most of the day trying to her to sleep. Thanks

Debbie

Re: Need sleep help

LOL I'm not going to be a whole lot of help, we always just nursed to sleep at naptime.

But, there's a book called The No-Cry Sleep Solution by Elizabeth Pantley that you would probably find helpful, has a whole chapter of nap-related ideas.

GL!

Re: Need sleep help

I do if we are out and about or if I'm trying to get stuff done at home like vacuuming or mopping and she is being fussy.

Re: Need sleep help

We nursed to sleep for naps, too. 4 months is still a little young for an established napping schedule (for some anyway). It is also too young for CIO (although I am not against CIO under appropriate circumstances). My days were ruled by naps at that age. Before that they fell asleep more easily and at 6 months we were able to get them on more of a schedule but yes, that is a hard age. Hang in there mama!

Re: Need sleep help

I second the No Cry Sleep Solution. However, like the others, I'm not much help.. I either nurse or rock my babies to sleep until they don't want to anymore. By that time they're usually old enough that they'll just fall asleep on the couch watching a video or something.
