What is going to happen to the FFS and Lottos threads?

I'm just wondering if FFS and Lottos are going to require that people are approved sellers. I feel like those two threads aren't likely to be filled with scammers, and I remain undecided about if I want to apply for the Sellers group; but I still have things that I'd love to lotto next spring when the clothes are in-season.

I'll get clarification but I am pretty positive you need to apply to "sell" in FFS and Lottos.

Re: What is going to happen to the FFS and Lottos threads?

I was wondering the same thing about the FFS board. Also, what about ISO? People sell through there, too, and in PM's rather than just posting items for sale. Can that really be prevented?

I really don't know how I feel about the new rules, personally. I might be disappointed if I couldn't offer stuff to people FFS or close to FFS if I saw I had something they needed just b/c I wasn't sure how I felt about the new rules. It wouldn't bother me too much because I might be able to find someone else to give them too (freecycle, etc.) but just something to consider...

But I definitely appreciate that you are trying to prevent scammers.

Re: What is going to happen to the FFS and Lottos threads?

Ladies, while my heart wants to say members should be able to just offer up for FFS without applying, one of the largest scamming cases I ever worked on here was a mama who took advantage of many, many mama's in the FFS forum. While the amount she stole from each mama was small, the combined total was very large!

I couldn't believe it!

On the ISO, that is buyers LOOKING for items. I can see how that one could be left out and the buyer simply have to check if the one offering to sell to them has been verified. I really think it would be a lot simpler for members posting in any area of FSOT,FFS,ISO etc that involve the exchange of money or items to all be verified.

Wait... let me re-phrase that. It is NOT a lot simpler but I think it would be safer

The above is still being discussed though, Just wanted to share my thoughts on why these may be included.

Thanks for clarifying! That is scary... I did think of that after posting, I guess I could see how someone could do that, if they offer a lot of things FFS, take the money for shipping or overcharge on shipping, and then never send the items... Sad people will do stuff like that!!

Yeah, that occurred to me as well. Then I just hoped no one would be cruel enough to do that.
