Question how to make your own bisquick recipe?!

i loove bisquivk and all the delicious fattening recipes that go along with the name, but i wanted to see if anyone has made their own tried and true bisquick mix?
added bonus~ if you have made it with some wheat flour....because i know id regret every food item i ate with it unless it was somewhat healthy.
and no lard please, i dont do animal shortening!
thanks in advance.

Re: how to make your own bisquick recipe?!

Here's mine. I checked around before I made this one and I think it's pretty similar to others that I saw. I only use it for cheesy garlic biscuits-recipe follows.

Make your own Bisquick
4 1/2 cups flour
2 T. sugar
1 T. plus 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 cup dry milk

Mix together and store in air tight container. Use in any recipe that calls for baking mix/Bisquick.

Now that you have Bisquick, you can make these yummy biscuits!

Cheesy Garlic Biscuits
2 cups Bisquick
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
2/3 cup milk

Combine dry ingredients. Add milk and stir. Use two teaspoons to scrape biscuit "globs" on a parchment lined baking sheet (the parchment probably isn't necessary, I just like the ease of using it). Bake 10 minutes in a preheated 400 degree oven. Meanwhile combine...
2 T. butter, melted
2 tsp. oregano
1 tsp. garlic salt

When the biscuits come out, brush with the butter mixture and return to oven for 5 more minutes. You can brush them again when they come out if desired.

I think probably the most you could do is 1/2 and 1/2. Otherwise it would really effect the outcome I think. I like ww flour in some things, but since most of the things you make bisquick with are on the "light and fluffy" side, I think that would be harder to achieve with all ww flour. Maybe a ww bread flour?

I put fresh garlic and dry dill in the biscuit, Im gonna have to try oregano. I also use fresh pressed garlic in the butter topping. The fresh garlic makes it soooo much yummier. YUM!!! Im in love with cheesy garlic biscuits!!!

theres a finer milled whole wheat, you can sub it cup for cup of white flour. You could also slip 1/4 cup of wheat bran in there easily with white flour, maybe a little more.

I buy mine at Trader Joes, it's all natural with no additives or bad stuff. Works the same and has whole grains.

I can't wait to make those biscuits! They sound yummy. The only thing I am missing is the milk and cheese. I am going grocery shopping tomorrow so I will pick them up!
