Van question
I have a friend on fb that is getting flamed from people about moving her daughter to the back of her van.
She has a 4 yr old, a 5 yr old, a 2yr old & is due next month with her 4th. Is the back seat really that much less safe? She is a bigger person and was having trouble getting the toddler in. |

Re: Van question
I have a mini van and I put my 4 and 5 year old in the 3rd row, and my 1 yr old behind me (the driver). My 2nd row is just 2 captain chairs... and I cant put one there and the other in the back, for them to fight about who sits where... It was just easier for both the older girls to be in the 3rd row. I dont think its unsafe... They are still in there harnessed car seats and thats all that matters. There is no air bags back there

Re: Van question
What would you think the best set up would be? I know that none of the car seats really look all to great & months ago I told her that a couple of them were expired. At this point there is nothing I can do.
The boys are in HBBs and the toddler is in a forward scerena =( |

Re: Van question
Are we talking about a mini van, or something like an add-on quad row for a suburban?? If we're talking about a minivan or standard 3rd row on an SUV, and the kids are in age-appropriate and up to date car seats, then I don't see any problem with it!

Re: Van question
If the boys can buckle theirselves, I'd put them in the third row. Then she can just peek back to make sure they have the seat belts routed right. Personally, I'd still have them harnessed, especially the 4 year old. But other than suggesting it, there's really nothing you can do. Just assure her that the third row of her minivan is perfectly safe for any of her kiddos.

Re: Van question
3rd row is perfectly fine. After all, someone HAS to go back there if you have more than 2 kids
That 3rd row isn't back there for decoration
