need lunch ideas

DH is usually a stay at home dad, but I'm on maternity leave and need quick and easy lunch ideas for my almost 3 year old. DH did a lot of chicken nuggets and sandwiches, but I'd like some healthier stuff. Any suggestions?

Well my kids would live on chicken noodle soup if I let them.

They also like:

grilled cheese
hardboiled eggs
veggies (cooked or raw)
yogurt

Re: need lunch ideas

Thanks! I bought some soups at the store today, so I'll see how he likes those. I personally can't deal with hard boiled eggs, not sure why, but I've never been able to touch them. I did do scrambled eggs the other day, and they were a big hit.

I'm new to the forum (only did FSOT in the past) and I'm surprised I didn't get much of a response to this post. Is there a better place to post a question like this?

this forum goes through spurts. Its been pretty slow lately.

DD likes yogurt, fruit, string cheese, turkey or ham, crackers, anything with ketchup, taquitos, carrots, cucumbers and tomatoes and dip, mac n cheese, quesadillas, grilled cheese, toasted pb&j

Crackers and dip, crackers and cheese, cold sausages, avocado on toast, yep, scrambled eggs are good, wraps with various fillings, yoghurt, homemade yoghurt drink. Fruit or a smoothie. Leftover pasta and sauce (my 2 1/2 yr old loves this but my 5 yr old won't go near it)

Re: need lunch ideas

we do a lot of leftovers, quesadillas, wraps or pinwheels... he went through a stage where he'd eath the pinwheels but not wraps even though they're just cut up wraps, grilled cheese, chicken nuggets, burgers, yogurt, carrots or broccoli with dip, frozen peas (weird i know), avocados, cottage cheese, homemade lunchables, mac n cheese (homemade or boxed)...thats all i've got right now. OHHhh and of course we love fruit too.

What about Mini Pizzas made with whole grain English Muffins, and topped with pizza sauce, cheese, ( or even pepperonis, & veggies that your family likes!)

They are a quick, easy to make (only about 5-8 mins in the oven), delicious lunch for the whole family!

I bought all the ingredients for these yesterday and was going to try them tonight for dinner! DS likes to cook with me, so hopefully that will get him interested in eating them too.
