i am looking for a nice soft boy doll for my son who is sixteen months old. he loves babies and i want a doll that is not a ton of money. i have found some waldorf type dolls that are beautiful but they are over $100!
if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

Re: where are the boy dolls

Lol...$100?!?! Ok- not usre where you are BUT our boys have several "babies"...and baby stuff- strollers, cribs, clothing, etc...

We usually get their babies at Big Lots for under $20- and they come with supplies alot of times- got one there that actually cries, says dada, laughs, etc for about $20 around Christmas- its dressed in blue to be a boy....

We hvae also found them at Walmart

The key to finding them is that you have to usually search- since boy ones dont usually sell as fast, I have found that you have to move other dolls sometimes and find them behind the girly/pink ones...

... the tougher part is finding "baby gear" thats not pink...

The easiest is probably to find a boy Cabbage Patch doll. You can find smaller ones but they're just in blue onsies and a hat.

not necessarily anatomically correct, just dolls dressed as boys at this point. we would also like dolls that are completely plush. dh has a very strong dislike for plastic of all kinds... sometimes toys are hard to buy

Ds has a nice Russ plushie. It is kind of androgenous. It is a Christmas doll (cause he was a December baby) it is in a red sleeper and red hat. It is a velour fabric with stiched facial features. The clothes don't come off at all. There are also anatomicaly correct soft dolls (I believe they are called Bottoms or something) that are really reasonably priced on line. I can't think of the name of the website that sells them, but you see co-ops for them on mothering dot com sometimes.

i think what i'm looking for is a waldorf type doll with more contempo clothes. i'll check out the Bottoms doll too. i've seen Ole but it has been poo-poo'd.
the search continues. i'll check out the russ, where is that?
