Problems with snaps

My dh made me a snap press out of an arbor press and it seems to work great. However, when I wash the diapers, a couple of the snaps have come out. I just have the standard die set and snaps. Should I get industrial snaps?

Re: Problems with snaps

Maybe you just need a slight adjustment to the press to be sure it is squishing the snaps enough. I have standard snaps and they never come off in the wash. Have you ever found any peices? Can you tell if they are coming off because they are broken (perhaps squished too much)? Or are they coming off because they just let loose (shuished too little)? If you could find that out then you'd know which was you need to adjust your squishing. Are the snaps nice and tight around the fabric once applied, or a little loose? That may help you figure it out too. Anyway, I would experiment with it some more before investing in new dies and snaps.
Good luck!
