Question How can I make a changing pad cover?

I want to make a new cover for my simmons changing pad. Anyone have any tips on how to measure it so that I make it the right size? I want to make it in this flannel I got the other day. I have a store bought Terry one that is White and I just wanted something else I would love to use the fabric I have.

Re: How can I make a changing pad cover?

I would start by measuring all 6 sides.
Make a pattern of each side (you can do this by pinning the fabric you have to each side and tracing around leaving 1/2"-1" around on all sides)
I would cut either all 6 sides separately and sew them together right sides together, leaving room for a zipper or fold over flap (flap would require extra fabric) OR you could double the length and fold in half ( sorry if it is confusing, but think of how a pillowcase is constructed and that should help).

I reupholstered my couch and I just did the cushions like I would a pillowcase. Good luck and great idea!
