Possibly moving to ND from WA

Hi mamas!
We might be moving to western ND in a couple of months, and I am lost. I have never been east of Idaho, and I don't know what to expect.
Can anyone tell me anything about Bismarck, or the surrounding areas? Or Minot, or Williston? What do you like about living there? Is there anything to do? What's a good way to meet people when we are new to town?
TIA for any answers!

Re: Possibly moving to ND from WA

I grew up in and still live in Williston. Like pp said it is cold!!!
What do I like about living here? Very friendly community, I like the small town feel

What don't I like? The cold!, there are not alot of places to shop, hard to find places to live (because of the oil boom)

What is there to do? we have bowling, archery, golf courses, lots of parks, outdoor and indoor swimming pools, there are races in the summer, there is actually quite a bit to do here, you just have to look!

Best place to meet people? there is a Mops group that meets, but IMO the best place to meet people is at a church if you are a church goer.

If you end up moving to Williston, PM me I would be happy to help you out and introduce you to some people! HTH
