Can you freeze rice?

Does anyone know if you can freeze rice? I just made up a double batch of brown rice so we'll have leftovers. I'd like to freeze some for later this week if that's possible.

TIA

Yep...tastes great. Sometimes it gets a little mushy though. I do it anyway.

Re: Can you freeze rice?

I do it all the time, make a double batch and then I put it into 1 cup tupperware containers in the freezer. When I need rice, I pop the frozen rice out of the tupperware into a microwavable dish, microwave til steaming and it is just the same as fresh!

Re: Can you freeze rice?

Now I wish I'd made even more than twice the recipe.

Re: Can you freeze rice?

That is why I make the double batch, cuz I don't care for it at all, so it is easier to make it one time, then microwave when I need it-makes for very quick meals as well.
