That's a great point. Here in the Frozen North I would always do both a hat and a hood with DS as the hood protects the sides of their fact/head/neck whereas the hat just covers the head, and any extra layer is a plus. I am making my BFF's little girl a Wendy hoodie and I think with the scraps I will do a Hudson Hat and maybe some mittens too. I debated not doing a hood on the Wendy because I don't like the pointed hood look (and that bugs be about the HH too, TBH which is why I haven't quite committed to buying the pattern) but I think I will do it and just play around with decreases in the middle of the last couple of rows to see if it will help it at all.
