am I the only one that can do destin ect...

My diapers consist of prefolds and both fleece and suade cloth inner pockets and I have some bamboo velour doublers.. My LO doesn't get rases often but does on occasion ussually cause she had a poo diaper I didn't notice right away...
WHne shes does I use desitin I lather it on the affected area put on what ever diaper I want and go on with life.. It all washes right out with out a single issues.. Not scrubbing no staining or bleacing affects nothing. I used to be big on using a disposable insert with creams but then I started getting lazy and realized I never have an issue with it anyways. I've used Balmax AnD creamy plain vasaline and CJ creams all with no issues same with powders.. The only thing I find I do need to put protection down with is triple cream which I've only had to break out once (when I tried a diffrent detergant and we were passing around ickies and yeast) but plain destin nope.

You don't have stink issues from using Desitin? I used to use it with pocket and fitted dipes, 2 yrs or so ago. I thought it was all fine and dandy until my dipes started stinking like dead fish from the cod liver oil in it. I never had dipes repel or anything, but it took serious soaking & scrubbing to get that stink out, and I swear my dryer still has a slight odor.
ETA: what kind of desitin? I was using original, maybe the creamy doesn't have cod liver oil?

I use Balmex with no problems, but I've only used it while using prefolds. Washes right out!

I have used desitin with my pf's when we need it (just last week we had some sicky rash going on) and I do powder all the time since DS loves it and I can trick my DS into a change by offering powder. I wouldn't use the desitin with pockets though...that is just scary to me

ETA: I have also used balmex but if it is bad enough to pull out the cream we need all the zinc we can get so I like desitin better...

Yes I learned long ago that the orginal destin has cod liver oil and that it didn't mix well with CDs I always get the creamy which doesn't have the CLO.

I use original destin.. or equate, the Wal-Mart brand, whenever I need to on our prefolds and never ever have any issues. I don't even worry.. I've used it on all diapers... no stinks or issues.
