I honestly don't see the issue. I flipped the tv over. The baby isn't sleeping well because they co-sleep. No one seems to be sleeping well. How is that good for anyone?

Supernanny just said something like "She doesn't need to breastfeed 24/7, she's 14 months, not 2 or 4." And the baby isn't able to do ANYthing because she's constantly on her mom. Babies NEED time to grow and learn. She's not saying to stop BFing. She's saying that a 14 month old doesn't need to all day long. KWIM?

thats SO not true! Don't they say b'fed babies learn quicker and develop faster? I think thats what I heard (please don't bash me, my baby is fully bottle fed now.... was b-fed but she weaned herself..)

I havent seen the show yet, but Im failing to see the big deal. So the Supper Nanny isnt advocating extending BFing - who cares? Not everyone does. The Mom doesnt HAVE to wean the baby if she doesnt want to. Obviously, they WANTED Supper Nannys help, ya know? I'm all for for AP parenting which it sounds like these parents ARENT if they "beat" their kids, and BFing until whenever but just because Supper Nanny is giving a SUGGESTION doesnt really mean its crap.

I agree that she doesnt NEED to nurse that often but OMG, the crazy nanny just said that BFING is holding her back from reaching milestones

KWIM? __________________ Tiffany, Mama to the incredible JM (3.25.06) & NC (7.28.10) We don't vaccinate, we kept our son intact, we use cloth diapers, we co-sleep, we extended RF, we breastfeed, but we watch too much tv and I totally dig plastic! Everyone has their issues, lol.
