I made my own gdiaper inserts!

I decided a while ago that I wanted to use gdiapers with a combo of flushies and cloth inserts, but I don't want to spend $30 for 6 cloth inserts! So I am making my own... The fleece ones absorb approx. 1 cup of fluid.

I started of with 2 layers of terry cloth between 2 layers of flannel (pictured) or fleece:

The problem was that once I washed them they looked like this:

So I decided to sew 2 layers of skinnier terry cloth onto the bottom layer of fleece and then sew another layer of fleece on the top. They wash well!

The white ones are a tad short, but they will work fine during the day time... I made 20 of them for about $13!

Black Friday, I braved the craziness and went to Joann's to get cheap fabric. I made 27 inserts for $10 this time!

These are a little longer (not sewn yet)

In the diaper:

Creative! Also, if you put the good side inside when you sew and just leave one side open, you can then turn it right side out then sew it shut and it shouldn't fray that way. Have fun with it!
