Christmas Chat
I didn't think anybody would be around for to much of this week based on our Mon-Wed Chat so I just made it Christmas Chat!
HOLY SHEEP.......it's Christmas!!! HOLY SHEEP! Wow April is coming up sooooo fast! I can't wait for January to get here and get some sewing done and all kinds of things going on! So yeah my BP is WAY WAY up.....It was staying down so well and then it popped up so I am eating my protein and drinking my tea! But I looked at my records and I am 18lbs less then I was at 26w with Phin and my top bp number is higher but the bottom number is much lower so that is still very good! Plus I am taking when I have been active at home not sitting in the midwife for an hour!! I love how much less I weigh! Still have some shopping to do, we have Christmas eve eve with my fam, christmas eve with his, and christmas day with both sets of extended families if we so choose so busy week. DH is off for 10 days starting tomorrow so we are going to be swamped! XOXO Merry Christmas!

Re: Christmas Chat
Phin's mom - wow sounds exciting and hectic. April is coming up fast! I don't know what BP is.
I'm hanging in there and getting ready for Xmas. Found out SIL with her BF and their 5 year old will be here for Christmas after all so I am scrambling to get together gifts and stocking stuffers for them. I've maxed out how much I'll spend on my CC so I'm waiting for tomorrow when it re-sets for the month to get all the last minute stuff. Unfortunately I'm having to switch providers right now. So far I've been cash pay at a birthing center without health insurance. Now that it's kicking in and going into effect Jan 1st I'm finding out they wont cover birthing centers So I'm switching to the university hospital that does cord blood donation and does offer water births. But the frustrating part is they wont let me schedule an appt yet. I want to get in as early in Jan as possible. I haven't been assigned an insurance #, and my financial aid application is still pending - so I have to wait for one or the other to schedule. No U/S yet. But with insurance and financial aid I should end up having just about all costs covered (phew, that was a huge worry of mine). Did you know that the birthing center recommended an U/S that would cost $150 out of pocket? The price to do it at the hospital is $850 - luckily insurance will cover all of it but that is ridiculous! I'm almost 23 weeks, I wish I could have taken care of this before but no way to afford it... so better late than never. I'm still desperately anxious to find out the gender. |

Re: Christmas Chat
I know I am really excited...though DH has to work from 2PM-2AM on Christmas Day we at least get to spend the morning together to open all the gifts from our families.
I have high blood pressure reguardless if I am pregnant (got the crappy genes ) and my BP was high again at my last doctors appointment. But I also have white coat syndrome and the automatic machines do not like me. When they take it manually its good to go for me at least. I check it at home once a week if I remember and its never really high so I know its the doctors office that causes it to sky rocket.I am about 8 lbs lighter this pregnancy then I was with DD. Right now at 22 weeks the weight I am at is what I started out with DD. So I am already doing good in my book...I know I won't see 200 this pregnancy thank goodness! Plus I have only gained 4lbs so far...we will see what the scale says when I go on the 5th from all the Christmas cookies and goodies I have been eating ![]() We are just waiting on a problem from UPS to be solved since they some how lost out Christmas gifts from my SIL. It is a huge mess that UPS corporate is involved with this. I just want the cookies she was sending in the box I could careless about the gifts...she makes these cookies every year and they are so YUMMY!!Other then that just trying to sell the rest of DD's things we aren't going to be using anymore. Hope everyone has a fun Christmas!

Re: Christmas Chat
It's going to be a busy stressful weekend here. DH works tomorrow, and them he is off till the 3rd of January!! I'm so excited to have some family time. Monday will be super stressful, we are hosting a family dinner and my in-laws will be here by noon, so my MIL can help. I've been a lot sicker again, the last couple of weeks, and I'm not sure I will feel up to doing any of it. I don't even know I will feel up to having her around.
![]() I'm so counting the days till April, I'm so tired of feeling sick all the time!! Have a great Christmas everyone!!

Re: Christmas Chat
Well, I haven't been around much between not having access to diaperswappers for a few weeks and then just crazy busy... But hopefully I'll at least be in and out for a while now.
I had a checkup yesterday and things look good. I have finally started gaining back some of the weight I lost in the first tri. I'm still on zofran every day, but doing much better in the sick department. Sorry you're not, Steph!I am actually cooking Puerto Rican rice and beans right now and they smell SO good! I can't wait until they're done and the husband is off work so I can eat them! And, I am SUPER excited for Christmas, too! My son has done SUCH a great job of not touching the presents under the tree. I am kinda shocked. I figured it would be a constant battle, but he usually only asks once or twice a day if it's Christmas now? Precious boy. Anyway, Happy Christmas everyone! Hope it's lovely.

Re: Christmas Chat
Busy busy! So far today I've: made nutmeg pancakes with cinnamon pears and cinnamon whipped cream (mmm), done one load of dishes, washed and hung 3 loads of laundry, washed 1 load of diapers, vacuumed my living room, and went to eat lunch with DH. DS is napping now, and probably will be out for another 30-45 mins, so I guess I should go hang more laundry and finish my dishes. I want my house clean for Christmas
I also need to bake some banana muffins (have an entire bunch of bananas that somehow didn't get eaten, so I need to do something with them before they turn to goo), and I need to bake cookies for a Christmas party tomorrow.Tomorrow AM DS has a follow up appointment from having Croup and an ear infection, as well as his 2 year well check (yes, I am aware that he is almost 3...). I've been seeing a new pedi, and we're going to discuss delayed/selective vaxing schedule tomorrow. I finally went through and looked through the vaccines and the ones I thought I didn't want to give etc, and he's already had at least one round of all of those (not really by choice, but long story about our other pedi...). So hopefully we can just set up a good schedule for the rest of his vax's that I want to give. Then, after the DR appointment, we're going to my mom's to bake for Christmas Eve family get together at my parents' house. I'm thinking about seeing if DH (who's off tomorrow) will just come with us to the dr appointment, then drop me off at my parents', and take Logan home with him...we'll have to see Well, gotta go get some stuff done before Logan wakes up.

Re: Christmas Chat
Rosie, just stick the bananas in the freezer and then you can make banana "what ever" when you have time, it works great for the blackened ones when you don't have the time (or in my case want to) to make bread/muffins etc!

Re: Christmas Chat
I sewed all day today!! I did absolutely no housework so my house is a disaster and will remain that way until sometime either tomorrow night or Christmas eve. We are headed to friends for an overnight Christmas party that will go into the evening tomorrow and are super excited. I will tackle my dishes and floors at some point when we get back
My DH is off from now until after the New Year and I am so happy to have him home. We have a ton going on with family coming to town (his, YUCK!!) and then heading to Boston to visit some friends that we haven't see in years (YAY!!). I just look forward to being able to spend time as a family without home improvement projects and everything else getting in the way. Hope everyone has a wonderfully blessed holiday!

Re: Christmas Chat
Hi!
I haven't been around much, I've been so sick for the past 5 weeks with brochitis and then a really nasty sinus infection. Today is the first day that I haven't had excruciating pain in my cheek, top teeth and top jaw. It's the worst pain I've ever had, no lie. But it's getting better, after a second round of antibiotics. YAY!! The next few days are going to be busy busy busy! Tomorrow I have to clean the whole haouse and bake cookies and wrap gifts. Tomorrow night we're going to a friends party. Friday we're having a party at our house for my dad's side of the family. And on Christmas we're having brunch at our house with my parents and my brother. Then we have to go to DH's mom's house, then my aunt's house and then DH's dad's house. And this is an improvement over last year, when we had one more stop. I don't know how I'm gonna do it, it's gonna be exhausting with a 4.5yo, a 2.5yo and a pregnant mommy. I'm looking forward to it though, the holidays are always hectic but fun. I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday!!!
