I'm ready to cry!! Re: Espresso Candied Nuts

I'm making this recipe of DH's aunt's for the first time. It's close to this one:

http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/fo...Walnuts-240756

She gave it to me over the phone. Somehow I wrote down 1/4 cup of kosher salt. Then I was stupid enough to just follow the recipe without questioning it. So now I have $10 worth of salty walnuts!!!

Is there any way to salvage them???

I salvaged them. I rinsed all the candy coating off the nuts. Then started all over with the right amounts. I had to bake longer since they were a bit water logged. But they turned out good.

That's good to know. I think we've all done dumb stuff like that at one point or another (or multiple times in my case :giggle).

Those sound yummy! Now i want to make them. Glad they turned out in the end. I totally added cloves to my chili yesterday (thinking it was chili powder) I scooped it out so it was ok lol

glad it worked out mama!
i once watched friends add 1 cup of salt into brownie mix, determinded that they had read online that it needed that much salt, not sugar. it was a good lesson in "some things cannot be saved", apparently brownies & salt is one of those things
