I have never understood the problem with being a "pacifier!" The negative connotation seems to imply that bringing calm and peace to your baby is some kind of bad thing. It's all part and parcel with nursing your baby! I'm happy to reclaim the word as a positive one.

lol this is awesome!! the thing that women (and people in general) need to realize is that babies have an instinct to suck something like 20 hours per day.. they don't eat 20 hours per day but they need you to satisify that sucking need.. allowing them to do so is helpful to milk supply so I say "let em suck" I follow my DD lead.. she seems to know what to do!
