Pumping Question

I didn't pump that much in the beginning with my daughter last time (which I came to regret) but rather later on and it seemed that I couldn't "fool" my body to let-down with the pump after awhile which made it very hard to even get 4-5oz over the course of a day. My question is..I know the milk changes as your baby grows but is is "bad" to use milk you have pumped when they are first born as a fall-back bottle later on when they are say 4 mo old?

Re: Pumping Question

I don't believe so....I know lots of Mama's pump early on for when they go back to work. Better to have breastmilk that's a little different in the makeup than formula I think.

As long as you dont go over the recommended freezing time its all good !
I pumped 3oz a day and put it away for later use with my first and she did fine with it

Re: Pumping Question

I found it was perfectly fine to use, but he needed more of it when he started getting bigger. I'm guessing it either had less fat in it, or it was a coincidence and he was having a growth spurt on the day we had to use a lot of frozen milk.
