CD safe stain remover

Now, I don't do sunning. I personally prefer to just spray the diapers as soon as possible with stain remover [long story short]. Right now I use Shout. Yes, I know. NOT GOOD!!! [or is it actually ok?] But its the only thing I had on hand. I was wondering, is there anything I can do with my laundry detergent to make my own stain remover? I use Purex Natural Elements for the cloth diapers. I see recipes where I put the detergent and water in a spray bottle alongside "ammonia" !! Is that even safe for CD? Is there any other method of CD safe stain remover? I do buy the powder Oxyclean from Sams all the time. Anything I can do with that?

Re: CD safe stain remover

I've hit a diaper with shout or oxy clean laundry stain removal spray when I feel needed its never been an issue. You could use Bac Out and make a pretreatment spray with that. (50/50 water to cleaner solution..)

I use Imse Vimse Stain Away Soap. It's a square block of soap, rather big and clumsy, but it does the job really well. Not as easy as a spray solution though. Because of it's awkward size, I popped it into the microwave for 2 minutes, and used a kitchen knife to cut it into smaller blocks.

You can use it straight after you rinse out a poopy dipe, or just before washing.

We use ecover stain remover. No problems and I love the little brush that you can use to rub the liquid into the stain. Works great!

I've used shout for almost 2 years now with no issues what so ever. No stink, no elastic problems, no pul problems....nothing! And all of my diapers are stain free!

Re: CD safe stain remover

Sometimes I use Bac-out in the prewash. I have heard good things about the ecover stain remover as well. Can I ask why you don't want to sun? Typically we don't get stains but when we do I stick it in the sun and within an hour the stain is gone and it's natural and free.

I use oxiclean with each wash when I remember. I have tried Clorox 2 with no problems with the diapers or DD ( she is sensitive to regular Tide), just seeing if it would work and it did for her stains but she still nurses so that may help some
