Need fish ideas!
I love fish but my SO and boys don't. My SO is trying to start eating it though. SO I need some ideas for a good fish. I am thinking to just lightly flour it with some seasoning and fry it. But not sure what seasoning. I normally just do haddock with lemon pepper and olive oil in the oven. Any help would be great!

Re: Need fish ideas!
My son loves fish sticks! We use Nigella Lawson's goujons recipe (internet search should get you the recipe). A bit of work, but we make extras and have fish sandwiches the next day. He LOVES them with tartar sauce to dip in!

Re: Need fish ideas!
I roll it in flour-egg-flour or egg-almond meal, then into the fry pan with a bit of butter and coconut oil, then lightly salted. The whole family loves it.

Re: Need fish ideas!
I have a couple easy microwave recipes to cook fish from frozen.
Put frozen fish in glass dish. Dump Italian dressing over and sprinkle with parm cheese. Cook in microwave full power for apx 10 minutes. I'm serving four when I make it, so adjust the time if making for more. I do the same thing with salmon except i use lemon juice and salt and pepper.

Re: Need fish ideas!
This by far is my favorite fish recipe. Easy, quick, and I always have everything on hand. and my kids and DH eat it all up! I buy individually packaged Tilapia filets from Target in the frozen section. They thaw in the sink, cold water, in about 10-15 minutes.
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Broiled-Tilapia-Parmesan/Detail.aspx I add bread crumbs to the mixture (to keep it from running under the broiler), and put old bay on each side of the fish for more flavor. I also have substituted light mayo and 50/50 butter before and turns out great. Fast. You will be done in 15 mins max.

Re: Need fish ideas!
Cod is pretty bland and not fishy. You can do almost anything with it. Make fish tacos, fried, sauteed, in soup...

Re: Need fish ideas!
We had some tilapia marinated in caribbean jerk marinade and just baked in the oven. It was soo good! Also, salmon is a favorite here -- just sprinkled with dill weed and lemon juice, and served with tartar sauce (which is just chopped up pickles and mayonaisse).

Re: Need fish ideas!
Thank you everyone! The recipes sound great! I am not sure SO is ready for tilapia yet. I think I may start with some cod or flounder. If I remember flounder was a pretty mild (not sure the word for it) fish. I may have to get some tilapia for myself. I love it but only get it when we go out!

Re: Need fish ideas!
I dont think you can go wrong with cod. We use lite coconut milk with some curry powder or garlic and our son absolutely loves it!

Re: Need fish ideas!
Tilapia is our favorite because we get the tilapia loins (thicker) and they don't taste "fishy" at all! The loins cut into fish sticks easily, and they can be fried in cornmeal and old bay for fish sandwiches as well. They don't fall apart easily like some other thin filets.
