Smile Help Me Get Pregnant! Lets talk about Supplements!

I really am ready to get pregnant, and am starting my 8th month ttc. I weaned my son last month so now I am ready to add some supplements to the mix.
I have soy isoflavones and will be using it. What days are to be the best to take it? (What seems to cause the most BFPS lol)
I used progesterone starting 3dpo one month we were TTC (and it happened to be the month I had a m/c). I am not sure if it helped me get pregnant, but it did not help me stay pregnant. My doctor will do progesterone labs as soon as a get a BFP so I kind of wanted to wait to see if I actually needed the progesterone before I started taking it since once you start, you shouldnt stop.
I have B6 but only took it one month. Should I add this?
I always take extra folic acid.
What about aspirin?
Any other super awesome TTC supplements I need to take?

I have some supplements on hand, but am not ready to take them quite yet. I am really interested in hearing the various opinions and experiences though!

Re: Help Me Get Pregnant! Lets talk about Supplements!

I just saw my herbalist yesterday, and she recommended I drink lots of green tea up until o (detoxs the body which results in a greater number of viable embryos, and increases maturation of the egg), dong quai until o , grapefruit juice/evening primrose oil for abundant cm I hope this is going to help me...after Mark and 2 chems in 5 months, I just wanna get preggers and STAY preggers already!!!

INFO given to me from my herbalist:

Green Tea
A 2006 double blind, placebo-controlled study carried out by Stanford University of Medicine found that mixing Green Tea extract with Chaste Tree and other vitamins and minerals normalized menstrual cycles in women with both long and short cycles, and resulted in 26% of the women becoming pregnant (compared to just 10% in the placebo group) making it a 260% increase in fertility!
Another 2004 study which contained Green Tea and Chaste Tree extracts resulted in 33% of the women becoming pregnant (and none of the women in the placebo group managed to conceive.)
The Epigallocatechin Gallate in the Green Tea extract was reported in the Food Chemical Toxicology Journal to assist fetal development, as it protected animal fetus from toxicity.

Dong Quai

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Kwong Wah Hospital, Hong Kong reported use of Dong Quai to help infertile women to conceive.
Dong Quai is used in Chinese Medicine for at least 2000 years to treat female reproductive problems including infertility, frequent miscarriage, ovarian function disorders, uterine cramping, fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, PMT, painful periods, heavy periods and a lack of periods.
Dong Quai is rich in plant estrogens (phytoestrogens) which help to bring the body back into hormonal balance. It is also a good source of Vitamin B12, folic acid, choline, and iron.

With dong quai make sure you take it AFTER AF because it is also a blood thinner. I took that while we were ttcing along with black cohosh and some other stuff.... You can look at my charts to see the timing of all the supplements. This last cycle isn't the best to look at because I was slacking while we were out of town. But the November chart is good.

Re: Help Me Get Pregnant! Lets talk about Supplements!

and one of the docs I work with closely with him and his wife just finally get pregnant after 7 years of TTC via IVF and we were talking the other day about baby asa and that ALL fertlitlity specialist recommend it so I started taking it 5 weeks ago along with Red Raspberry capsules, folic acid, b6, and obviously vitamins.

Here is a tid bit on baby asa..... for your reading pleasure.
Why take baby aspirin?
Well, I believe it does suppress natural killer cells in the uterus, so it is used for those with immune problems. It has other effects on the immune system that I don't fully understand - I will try to find out more. But, it also improves blood flow to the ovaries, improving follicle development, and improves blood flow to the uterus, improving the quality of the uterine lining. This increases the odds that implantation will be successful. Also, during pregnancy, it will help to prevent mc or fetal demise in those prone to blood clots. Having blood clots form in the placenta and/or umbilical cord in the cause of many of these pg losses.

There's a great article in People magazine (the one with Di on the cover) about a women who had failed many IVF, presumably due to a weak uterine lining. Her sister agreed to be a surrogate but they also decided to give both women a few embryos. They both got pregnant. They said they don't know why this worked when all other attempts had failed but they think it was due to her starting to take baby aspirin 2 weeks before the transfer.

A good friend of mine just got pregnant after 10+ years of infertility (PCOS). It was a complete surprise. They were even using condoms!! But, they only thing different she did was she started taking daily aspirin for an unrelated reason several weeks before conception!
