Re: Flat fold tutorials - consolidated (SUPER pic heavy)

So I was playing around for the first time really with my ikea flat and a gerber sm muslin flat.

I LOVE the mini/newborn kit fold with the ikea flat. It looks SO trim. Makes the muslim flat too small.

I didn't find a fold I LOVED for the sm muslim flat. I don't like the kit fold much. I really didn't like the origami fold with the excess ends. Folds like the angel wing or diaper bag were okay. I need to figure out a modified mini kit fold I'll have to play more, I still have time (4.5 months)...

any suggestions?

Anyone have a picture tutorial on how to fold the flip daytime inserts like a flat?

My LO has ebf poop/diarrhea from teething so I can't trifold currently or it will get all over the cover

I just fold it in half so it looks like a prefold and then take it from there. When dd was little I had to fold down the back rise, and then do the angel wing. You could fold it in half and then do a very tiny kite fold, but Im not sure how old your lo is.

Yep the kite fold would be too tiny. I did it just to check. I had good success with doing it the way I described above. Just fold it so its about the same size as a pf and then angel wing it, folding down the rise as necessary. Its the trimmest diaper ever and fairly absorbent.

I took a picture of it folded this way with the rise folded down:

And next to a brown edge without the rise folded down for comparison:

And here it is snappied onto my then 9 month old:

Thanks so much! Yea I was looking for something trim for daytime so that maybe he could actually fit his clothes! And it's super soft which is a plus! They are really pricy though

Have you used regular birdseye cotton flats? They are still really trim and much cheaper.

How are they when it comes to softness? And how much cheaper? I got the flips for $4 each and I use fst to offset how much I paid
