Re: Anyone have experience with Placenta Previa?

No, I'm not bleeding now. I was because my cervix was shortening and I was funneling. But, that has stopped and now I have the placenta previa.

I would try not to worry too much, my doc just told me it should move just pray that it does .
I don't know why I was put on pelvic rest. It doesn't bother me b/c I have 0% desire to have sex and this keeps DH off my back so I'll take it. LOL

I have SPD as well and he mentioned that intercourse can make it hurt worse so maybe between the two issues he just wants no visitors in my nether region, JIC.

ETA: I had a marginal previa with DD1 as well and there was no pelvic rest.

Increta is where the placenta has grown through the wall of the uterus. There is accreta there it has grown into the wall, increta where it has grown through the wall and precreta where it has grown through and into another organ. I will not know if mine is increta or percreta untill I deliver. There is a chance mine has grown into my bladder but they cant tell for sure on the ultrasound.

Good lord mama! You are definitley in my good thoughts! I had an accreta with my first and would not wish that on ANYONE - it is a miracle I still have a uterus and that I'm alive to have more babies. Mine was undiagnosed and they were not prepared enough for the result. As a practitioner it is also one of my biggest "fears." Many, many good health prayers to you!

Re: Anyone have experience with Placenta Previa?

I had this with my first, and it moved by 28 weeks.

I was just researching it this morning for my friend (who found out hers at 20 weeks) and found that of the people who have placenta previa at 20 weeks, 90% will have it resolve on it's own.

Re: Anyone have experience with Placenta Previa?

i had partial previa diagnosed at about 9wks with my son's pregnancy...i began spotting after a long hike and horsing around with my dog...i understand that's pretty early for a diagnosis...but we monitored it and eventually it moved up and out of the way.

ive heard that a diagnosis of complete previa usually means it will not move...though, through previous posts im wondering if that is incorrect...just my understanding is that if the placenta actually implants INTO the cervix...it wont stretch up and out of the way as the uterus grows...

from my experience with the medical profession/als, though, i realize that there are actually many different 'theories' and 'facts' shared that are contradictory...so hopefully that is not the case, and if so, you have PLENTY of time for the issue to correct itself.
