Re: Progesterone shots anyone??? Update post #8

I was planning on having a HHN or a friend who is a dr. give them to me. I will def try the warming up. Anything has to be better than nothing.

As for the Lupus antibody test, my thyroid was fine about a year ago but I guess it could be wacky now. My mom does take a thyroid med.

I'd definitely keep an eye on it. Do you see an endocrinologist? My mom's FP saw her and convinced her she had lupus since the antibody test came back positive, but I finally convinced her to see an Endo who explained things to her, got her thyroid meds right and she's great now.

Again, not saying that's the case, just a little anecdotal info.

I will get it seen about as soon as I am not pg anymore. I just can't add another dr to schedule atm. I have two OB, allergist, chiropractor and an Ortho. I feel like I am always in a Dr office.

I get the progesterone shots every week. have been since 16 wks (before then i was on the suppositories) and i will be until full term. just make sure she doens't give them in your butt, they hurt worse there. i get mine in my back (love handle, whatever lol) and hoenstly they don't hurt at all. although now i have lumps of scar tissue which makes it a little more sensitive, but honestly it's nothing compared to an abruption (lost a baby to complete abruption) i don't have any side effects

I had to do the shots with Emery because of too many BH contractions and a history of PTL (36 and 35 weeks). My husband did them in the top of the side of my behind, and it wasn't too bad. Just inject it slowly because the stuff is thick, and try to warm it up before and massage after. That was the fun part, lol.

And I never ended up on bedrest, and Emery made it to 37 weeks, so I guess they worked!
