Best footed sleepers for fluffy butts
My baby wears a big, fluffy nighttime diaper with a wool cover. She is 9 mos old, but I have to size up in sleepers to accommodate her big butt. However, when I size up, they are too long, and her feet don't fit into the footed part. We have Carters 12 mo and Gerber 18 mos footed sleepers, and the butt area is tight. What are some footed sleepers with more generous butt areas? Thanks!

I like the ones from The Childrens' Place. They are called stretchies and they are very stretchy.

Re: Best footed sleepers for fluffy butts
Actually we just got a Carters for xmas gift and it's 24 months, he is 19 months and it fits his fluffy butt just fine. Have you tried going up a size. I find Carters run small.
Also I bet it's because it's girl pj's. If you ever look at the difference between boy and girl jeans/pants it's huge. The girls are straight down and slim fitting, the boys are baggier. I hate that as girls run around and need room just as much as boys even though it may seem more fashionable to have the skinnier fit.

Re: Best footed sleepers for fluffy butts
I should also add that we have a lot of pj's from europe(my mam brings them over when she visits) and they are cut much bigger too. The one he is wearing tonight reminds me of an oompa loompa(which he was for Halloween btw!)

Re: Best footed sleepers for fluffy butts
I really like the sleepers from Costco, they have a long torso (and so do my babies) and seem to work really well for us. They are very inexpensive too.

Yes, jeans you could go with either gn and nobody would notice. The pj's usually have either footballs etc. Although I did see some cute monkey(boys section) at carters the other day that could be GN. All the pj's fleece footies were $5.99 on clearance.

The Children's Place fleece PJs work great for us.

Us too. DS wears them almost 24/7. When he's not wearing TCP fleece jammies, he's wearing the TCP Stretchies. The stretchies are great too, all cotton, so not as warm, and I have to size up in them. DS wears 12 months in the fleece and 18 months in the stretchies.

Re: Best footed sleepers for fluffy butts
Thanks for all the suggestions!
FWIW, my daughter's 18 mos Gerbers are girly ones, and the 12 mos Carters are boyish ones (hand-me downs from her boy cousin), so I'm not sure if getting boys sleepers will help, but I like the suggestion and will check out boys jeans/pants for my daughter. We do size up -- she is 9 mos old but wearing 12 and 18 mos sizes, but the bum area is still very tight. I will look into the TCP stretchies (although I prefer fleece sleepers, but if they are thick they should be warm enough) and look around for European ones -- I think cloth diapering is more commonplace in Europe and Canada, so it make sense that their clothing are more generous in the bum area. Let me know if you wonderful ladies can think of anything else! Thanks! |
